An exciting enterprise comprising eco-lodge staycation facilities, eV charging and commercial units on one site powered by green and off-grid renewable energy. ReCharge One’s first site is located in Buriton, South Downs National Park (Hampshire) off the A3.

About ReCharge One

The ReCharge One vision is to level-up rural and remote tourist destinations that may otherwise be left behind in the transition to eVs. A place that combines fast charging with slow living. Founded around a farm shop and visitor centre, ReCharge One is a launch pad for visitors to explore the beautiful local area, staying in the zero-carbon lodges for overnight or weekly stays. ReCharge One provides everything you would expect in terms of great food and retail experiences for customers both business and leisure.

Scalar North Capital and ReCharge One

Scalar North Capital have been supporting the ReCharge One executive team on an ongoing consultancy basis from conception through planning into launch. Scalar North Capital supported the management team with institutional grade materials for ReCharge One’s ongoing conversations with institutional investors as the team seek to finance the roll out of the concept nationwide.

ReCharge One was Scalar North Capital's first project within the renewables space and specifically within eV, an area of particular interest and one which allowed the team to get a first-hand view of the market and the wider opportunity. ReCharge One helped propel the launch of Scalar North Capital’s new boutique advisory and consultancy division.

Scalar North Capital's managing partner Josh Drukarz has described the project as “a hugely exciting one given its green and off-grid credentials." Josh goes on to suggest "the chances of success for the project are enhanced by the facts that climate change and clean/green energy are central to the UK Government’s national agenda, helping to meet their objectives on the transition to net-zero by 2050 and the banning of fossil-fuel vehicle sales by 2030. Coupled with the exponential demand of eVs over the next 10 years, ReCharge One provides a solution to existing pain points including range-anxiety and strain on the grid during peak hours by delivering a unique eV charging proposition in areas where the level of facilities are scarce, fully powered by off-grid renewable energy.”

As of March 29 2023, ReCharge One successfully achieved planning permission on their first site, located in Buriton, South Downs National Park.
